Enrollment Requirements
Kindergarten
- The child must be five years old on or before September 1 of the current year.
- Verification of age by birth certificate.
- A developmental readiness survey is administered to applicants. The survey assesses cognitive readiness, auditory memory, perceptual discrimination, as well as fine motor, large motor, and physical development.
- Immunization records (due before the 1st day of attendance).
Grade 1
- The child must be six years old on or before September 1 of the current year.
- Verification of age by birth certificate.
- Kindergarten progress report.
- A readiness survey may be administered to assess verbal and nonverbal development.
- Immunization records (due before the 1st day of attendance).
- State-mandated health screening within the past 18 months.
Grades 2-8
- Previous year’s report card
- Standardized testing results (if available)
- Immunization records (due before the 1st day of attendance).
- Children transferring to First Lutheran School are usually accepted at their present grade level. However, the school reserves the right to place a student in the grade which best serves his/her needs.
Procedures
- Submit to the school office the required documents and application fee .
- The principal will make an appointment to meet the prospective student and parent(s):
- to discuss the student’s background
- to share mutual expectations
- to assess developmental readiness and skill level through testing, if necessary,
