What we offer
School children on the playground First Lutheran School of Venice offers families a great Christian education in a safe and caring environment. In addition to high academic standards, we instill a sense of mutual respect and personal responsibility in our students. A strong home/school partnership is key. The curriculum includes phonics-based language arts, math, social studies, science, Spanish, art, music, religion, computers, and physical education.
Extracurricular activities include school musicals, art, science, and social studies fairs, spelling bees, sports, band, and after-school enrichment classes. The strong preparation of First Lutheran graduates is evident. “They are well-rounded, well-adjusted, and have great study habits,” says Emilie Gino, founder of Venice High Foreign Language Magnet. Our school is considered by many to be the best-kept secret on the West Side. Annual tuition for grades 1 through 8 is $6,100; half-day kindergarten tuition is $4,550 (for the 2009-10 school year). Sibling discounts and financial aid are available. Students wear uniforms.
