Dear Parents, Church Members, Grandparents, Alumni, and Friends,

It’s the end of the year: a time for thanks, a time for reflection, and a time for giving and sharing.  First Lutheran School would like to ask you to consider a unique type of gift giving – to help and provide an education for our children.  We are a small local school – a staple of the community, providing quality Christian education in a safe and nurturing environment to both our member and non-member families on the Westside.

Our school is accredited, and our students graduate with a strong academic foundation, well prepared for the challenges of high school and beyond.  They are also provided with after-school classes and activities such as band, art, science, and sports, which offer opportunities for further learning and development.

We have a great success story here – and we have a history, since we’ve been here as a school for over 60 years.  What makes us great? Students who want to learn, parents who love and encourage their children, a dedicated staff, and devoted church support.  We are a family, and we want all of our students to succeed.  Part of that success is dependent upon you.  That’s why each year, we reach out to ask for your support.  Last year, your generosity raised $16,060 through donor gifts and matching funds from corporate sponsors.

What does your gift go to?  In past years the Enrichment Fund has supported tuition assistance, small class instruction, and facility and equipment upgrades.  Since the fund program began, our Annual Enrichment Fund has had sufficient resources to help provide all school families who needed tuition assistance with the support they needed.  Our Board of Education has been prudent in the granting of this help. Each year we hope that the donations we receive will be sufficient to provide the assistance that our families will need. This is the first year since the fund was started in 1990 where the requests for help have threatened to fully deplete our resources.  We want to help when a family that has been a faithful member of our school community falls on hard financial times.  It is to every family’s benefit to keep those children in our school.  Your support will enable us to do so.
